Do You Hear What I Hear?- Advent Reflections for Racial Healing

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Advent Reflections for Racial Healing

December 2, 9, 16 - 7pm - Zoom

This popular Christmas hymn reminds us that for two people to hear the same message, they need to do some self-reflection and to check in with each other. Especially if they are rooted in different identities, whether racial, cultural, economic, and/or political, like the figures in the Nativity narratives.

Join us on three Advent Monday evenings to become aware of filters that impact whether we truly hear each other—or not.

We’ll learn how we can listen deeply to our Divine Guidance to see own inner listening habits and build healthy, trusting relationships with others, including those we perceive to be different from ourselves.

Let this Advent become a time of deep and receptive listening that bears fruit in racial healing in our Church and nation!

This series is offered by New Encounters: Catholics Confronting Racism in partnership with Sharon Browning, founder of Just Listening ( www.justlistening.net )

Registration is FREE, thanks to ongoing financial support from The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia.

Registration for this event is now closed.
